RO just finished his 4th treatment. He has possibly two more to go. They increased the doses again this time over the 2nd and 3rd treatment, and that has made him a bit sick feeling. After 5 or 6 they will do another PET scan to see how the chemo is working. So far, his white blood count is staying normal - PTL! We pray for the white blood count to stay in the normal range; that he can tolerage the chemo and that it is doing its job of killing off the cancer cells; thus giving us a clear report on the PET scan.

BOBBY LIVINGS FUNERAL
MAY 21, 2008
I do not know how many the chapel holds, but family was Gail, Olivia & one of her daughters, Keith and a lady with him (I understand he is divorced), Bobby's brother Jimmy & wife and two daughters. Other than the pall bearers, I would guess maybe 75 or 80; and 35 to 40 at the grave side. It was overcast but not hot. I just remembered that Camilla and Vernon attended the funeral service.
Yes, Tommy sang and did a great job. He gave an illustration of a small town young man went off to Hollywood and became a great actor and he wanted to go back home after several years to see how things had changed. They met him with the high school band and banner and then to the auditorium to hear him speak. He quoted the 23rd Psalm and the crown stood and applauded. They then asked the minister (who was up in age) if there was something he wanted to say before he closed with prayer. The minister began to also quote the 23rd Psalm, but when he finished the crowd was in tears. The young man then went to the minister and asked 'Why do you think they responded so differently from the way I quoted the 23rd Psalms?" The minister told him, "you know the scripture, but I know the Shepherd."
Tommy then sang "Serenaded by Angels" referring to Bobby's entrance to heaven.
Ronnie also spoke on the 23rd Psalm. He told about he and Brenda going to the Holy Land and the guide taking them through the 'valley of the shadow of death' of it being a narrow place between two tall wall of the cavern that cast a shadow in the bottom. In these sides were crevices and caverns where thieves would hide and jump out and rob those traveling through or wild animals would attack and kill. To get to this special place (I cannot remember what place other than perhaps the temple) you had to go through this valley to arrive at. Ron pointed out that we want to resist and say no, Lord, I don't want to go thru there, but with this verse 4, 'Yea thought I walk through the valley of the shadow of death....we are not to stay there, just walk through.... I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff they comfort me.' (NKJV) He said that Bobby knew 'The Shepherd.'
RO and I are walking through that valley now, with cancer being the thief that is wanting to rob us of his life. But we are not going to fear the 'evil' that it represents, because we surely know that our Lord is with us, He will protect us with His rod and staff and bring us comfort. That is not to say that when we get to the other side and proceed on to glory as Bobby did, but we know that as children of God, disease and death are only going to take us as far as the Lord allows it to - and we can only take great comfort in the knowledge that it is all under His control and we know 'The Shepherd.'
I told Gail that I would like to visit with her in a few weeks and that I would bake the cake and she can fix the coffee.
You take care as well and have blessed day!
Lenora

50TH CLASS REUNION
May 17, 2008
Dear VHS Classmates,
We had a very nice time on Saturday night at our 50th reunion in downtown Mobile. We appreciate the work done by so many to make the evening an enjoyable time to renew old friendships. If you attended we hope you had a wonderful time and want to return next year on June 6th at the Steele Creek Lodge in Satsuma. If you missed this year please mark this date on your 2009 calendar as reunion time with your classmates. We want you to come and talk with us about the good times we had together as teenagers.
Some of our classmates have a much better memory than I but sometimes it just takes a little reminder from a classmate to bring those memories flooding back. Looking back on those high school years should bring back some fond memories of good times in a wonderful place with wonderful friends and absolutely great teachers. I'm no Pollyanna but I only have fond memories of life at Vigor High School in the late fifties with some great classmates. I can't imagine coming of age in a better time or place or with better classmates than we did.
We wish the very best that God has to offer to all our classmates and teachers. Hope to see everyone next year.
Jimmy and Jerry Martin
The following poem was written by Raymond Yarbrough's wife, Yvonne, after attending our reunion. We wanted to share it with each of you.

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
From Joe (Harry) Endinger:
For myself, I am just trying to get my life back on an even keel after Jean's passing last year. Things have not been easy, and are still not easy, but they are better than they were. I'll never get over her, but I think I can begin to live life again.
Best wishes,
Joe
