September 14, 2010 - Frances (Blocker) Bounds update
I talked with Frances this morning. She is finally back home after a very long stay in the hospital and rehabilition. After a couple of cardiac stents and a pacemaker she is well on the road to recovery.
Frances thanks everyone for their continued prayers and well wishes.
September 2, 2010 - a note from Gail Livings (Bobby Livings widow)
I would like to thank Lenora (Jones) George for inviting me to dinner with the Class of '62 at Felix's restuarant. I would also like to thank each of you for making me feel so welcome. When Bobby and I helped work on some of the reunions I really enjoyed getting to know so many of his classmates. I do believe that I know more of his classmates than the 680+ that I graduated with in Birmingham.
So many of you have been kind and caring through my many health problems and through Bobby's illness and death. I can't thank you enough. As many of you know, 10 months after Bobby's death I had breast cancer for the second time. The good news is that I am doing great and have moved down the street from our daughter. The bad news is that our home is still for sale, but I know that God will send someone when he is ready.
Thank you again for being such wonderful friends.
Love
Gail Livings
August 22, 2010 - an update on Lenora (Jones) George's husband R.O.
Jean, this is the latest update on RO. It is OK to forward to the class if you think they would like to know.
As an update on my husband, RO, he faired well through the SIRT procedure last Wednesday, the 18th.. The SIRT Procedure (liver directive) consists of putting high doses of radiation particles directly into the liver. They were able to get all the planned spheres in place - they were pleased. (Note...this will effect only the liver, the tumors in the lungs and abdomen area will not be effected.) Will schedule CT in about three months to see how things are progressing.
He continues to work Monday and Tuesday afternoons at Springhill Golf Course and plays golf every Tuesday morning and every other Thursday. Also making plans for the hunting season.
This October will be 5 years we have been dealing with his cancer. We are grateful for the many friends for praying and loving us through this journey. God has blessed us tremendously. We wait on his plans to be fulfilled. We know He is faithful!!
